Software Engineer

**Local Candidates Only**

Responsibilities: The candidate will be required to (minimally) perform the following duties as part of software Engineer role:

  • Responsible for designing and writing high-quality code, as well all aspects of the Agile software development process
  • Contribute to the overall architecture of our product, analyze and solve problems, and analyze new features and enhancements
  • Focus on detailed test driven development
  • Collaborate with other software engineers, business analysts and testers
  • Extensive unit testing and documentation
  • Work with C#, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF,XML/XSLT/XPath, Web Services, nUnit and SQL Server (including developing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and triggers)
  • Work with SVN, Cruise Control, and Install Shield for source control and build activities.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate the following personal skills as they apply to the performance of duties:

  • Capability of handling several deadline-driven tasks at once

Inside Sales Specialist

Job Description: Connotate is currently seeking talented inside sales professionals who have a successful track record in software lead generation and prospecting.

The role of the Connotate Inside Sales and Lead Generation Specialist is to aggressively identify and qualify new business opportunities by building relationships with potential mid-tier to enterprise sized prospects via the telephone, e-mail and the web. The role carries the responsibility of generating and managing marketing qualified leads for the team of inside sales reps and meeting and exceeding qualified lead and revenue goals. The position currently reports directly to the Director of Marketing and requires extensive interaction with the field sales force.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2+ years experience in inside sales or sales; enterprise software, software tools and/or high tech sales is preferred. Candidate must also have cold calling expertise in a B2B direct lead generation environment, calling at a high level and exhibiting excellent verbal and written communication skills.   • Ability to sell clients on a Solution.

  • Create new opportunities by using an outbound sales approach

  • Act as relationship manager to new and existing customers to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded, and provide on-going support to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Proactively pursue sales leads and identify/pursue new client relationships; prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to prospective customers; complement existing relationships.

  • Develop and maintain an active/current list of prospects and develop sales plans for targeted companies; update customer and company contact information; maintain presentations, proposals and general sales records regarding ongoing sales activities.

  • Gather market intelligence and contribute to pricing, packaging, and new opportunities for product development in order to meet changing client needs.

  • Manage the full sales life cycle encompassing identification, face-to-face presentation to key decision-makers, responses to requests for proposals, contract negotiations, successful close and client support.

  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports to the Sales Manager as required and participate in ongoing training and developmental programs.

Professional Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess:

  • At least seven years’ experience with a minimum of five years of enterprise software sales preferably in the major Fortune industry sectors.
  • Demonstrated record of creating new opportunities using outbound techniques.

  • An intimate knowledge of and experience in selling enterprise software solutions and SaaS, preferably by virtue of a subscription-based model.

  • Understanding of at least one of our major markets, including publishing, media, financial services, Government, and pharmaceutical.  Knowledge of industry  research products and services as well as broader industry experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success in the full sales life cycle encompassing prospecting, cold calling, qualifying prospective customers, assessing client needs, utilizing strong closing techniques and maintaining those relationships.

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with the facility to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to initiate the sales process through a succinct and targeted phone presentation plus strong communication skills for one-on-one and large group presentations.

  • A demonstrated track record of consistent communication with clients, both on the phone and in person.

  • A high level of motivation; the drive to take initiative and to work both independently and as a team member; a self-starter.

  • Strong business development experience with the ability to sell in to (and represent Connotate) at all levels within an organization.

  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of activity to reach an aggressive set of sales goals and objectives.
